INTRODUCING DOUG COOKE
"Man, Doug is Really Good!" - Jerry Lee Lewis (May 2021)
"When I'm playing with you, I close by eyes and it's like being back on tour with Jerry" - Ray Gann, Jerry Lee Lewis' bass player for several years/tours (August 2022)
Doug Cooke saw the Jerry Lee Lewis biopic movie, ‘Great Balls of Fire’ twice in three nights in 1989 and decided he wanted to do THAT! - and a musical fascination was born.
Years later, Doug Cooke is delivering the energetic style and personal essence of Jerry Lee Lewis, “The Killer”, to audiences in casino theaters, performing arts centers, and honky-tonks around the country.
A recent highlight for Doug was playing a special livestream show on Jerry Lee Lewis’ piano from the living room of The Lewis Ranch in May 2021. The musical performance at this successful fundraising event was given the nod of approval from the Killer, himself!
Doug currently plays the role of “The Killer” in the ‘Last Train to Memphis: A Tribute to Cash, Killer, & The King’ tribute show (2016-Present) as well as ‘Killer vs. The King: A High Octane Tribute to Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis.' Both shows perform in casinos and clubs and are available for residencies.
Additionally, Doug works as an overall free-agent piano playin' gun for hire and inquiries into shows and performances are still welcomed.
